Training
Bill and I run 6 to 10 miles per day when we aren't climbing, hiking, skiing or snow shoeing. We have our own gym in our basement therefore we weight train 5 days a week. We also do a lot of stretching exercises. We live in the foothills of the Cascade Mountains so we are close to a rugged range of mountains where we climb, snowshoe, ski and hike for long distances. We are surrounded by lakes where we kayak which is good stamina training. We have to be very fit to carry heavy packs and pull sleds full of our supplies. We also practice navigation with map and compass. |
